Above Digital delivered a complete video production for Argus Media’s biofuels sector, transforming complex global market data into a clear, dynamic, and engaging visual experience.

The brief

Argus Media approached Above Digital following the success of a previous video project and commissioned a new animation for their biofuels sector.
The objective was to create a polished, authoritative piece that translates complex market insights into clear, engaging visuals through animation, infographics, and considered storytelling.

The video was designed to communicate both the depth of Argus’ expertise and its ability to navigate complex, fast-moving markets. It explores key areas of interest, from the diverse range of biofuels covered by their price assessments to the industries they serve, and the real-world applications that support global decarbonisation efforts.

Shaped by evolving policies that vary across regions and countries, the piece also highlights Argus’ world-class global teams as a core strength, reinforcing the value they bring to delivering some of the most trusted biofuels market insight worldwide.

What we did

As with previous projects, the Argus team proved to be an excellent collaborator, providing the data and insight needed to inform the creative direction of this piece.
Having already worked together on their global branding, brand guidelines, website design and multiple photography and video shoots, we were able to build on a strong, brand-led foundation.

Firstly, the scope process focused on mood-boarding and market research, drawing from existing content collected for the Argus Crude video, ensuring visual themes remained consistent and on brand. Bringing the client script to life also meant managing the voice over artist and client revisions, to ensure smooth application of the script’s narrative from design through to delivery.

We structured the script into five key sections, each developed into distinct sequences. These were translated into detailed storyboards to ensure close alignment between visual direction, voice-over, and overall narrative flow.

The video also needed to reflect Argus’ global presence, incorporating a mix of carefully curated stock footage alongside existing footage from previous Argus Media shoots, highlighting the scale, capabilities and reach of their international teams.

Throughout the project, we adhered to the brand guidelines we designed, ensuring all graphical elements aligned with Argus’ brand visualisation, including the Argus ‘Focus circle’. This consistency ensured that all on-screen text, icons, and imagery remained cohesive with other Argus projects of this kind.

The result

The result was a 3-minute 45-second high-resolution HD video, delivered in both standalone and captioned formats to ensure maximum versatility across use cases while meeting accessibility requirements.

Through a series of iterative revisions, including content refinements, design adjustments, and voice-over updates, the project was kept efficient and collaborative throughout. Close coordination between Above Digital, our production team, and the client ensured a smooth process and a high-quality outcome.

The video was well-received and showcased at market conferences with thousands of attendees within a week of delivery.

While Argus’ core message remained consistent, the project developed into a distinctive and impactful asset. The refined and cohesive production elevates their brand identity, building on previous work while delivering a compelling, high-concept visual experience.
