ebco

e-bike e-commerce website. branding.

the brief

E-bike brand EBCO tasked us with creating a bespoke e-commerce website and a fresh brand design that would ‘power up’ their business, enabling them to market and sell their e-bikes directly to both consumers and dealers more effectively.

Our challenge was to redesign their current brand, modernising it in a way that would connect it with their customer base better. The website needed to seamlessly serve as a direct sales platform for consumers and dealers alike, servicing both B2C and B2B sales.

scope & website design

We designed the bespoke e-commerce website, starting the process with a thorough wireframing phase to plan all aspects. We tailored the website design to meet the needs of both consumers and dealers alike, through carefully crafted user journeys.

The website is delivered with a contemporary design and a user-friendly interface. The website design features large-scale lifestyle imagery, bold typography, and prominent calls to action. Notable features include a dealer portal, wishlist functionality, and a dynamic dealer locator, a bespoke click-and-collect ordering process. Additionally, informative sections cater to newcomers in the e-biking world, guiding them through the site to make a purchase.

website build

The bespoke website build is carefully crafted on the WordPress platform, and features modules built from scratch, designed to function well on both desktop and mobile devices. Our e-commerce functionality is powered by WooCommerce, forming the basis for a customised e-commerce content management system.

This ensures the website functions precisely as needed, providing an easy-to-manage, robust platform. The site was built with their future growth in mind, creating a website that can adapt and scale as the company evolves.

branding design

We started the brand design project by delving into their product ecosystem, customer demographics, and market competition. We were able to define what made EBCO unique, and how we could potentially position them in the busy e-bike space.

Our brand strategy primarily targeted the entry-level market, whilst also catering for the more experienced riders, around EBCO’s mission to provide high-quality e-bikes that are suitable for riders of all skill levels. This insight inspired a vibrant, modern visual identity, replacing their old red and black with a modern, bright green. In addition, we planned and executed a photoshoot to showcase the product range, showing the bikes being used by typical rider types, and making it relatable to the intended audience.

festival of sport

outdoor events startup. branding & website. ticketing.

the brief

The Festival of Sport is the ultimate UK family sporting weekend for 2021. The summer festival features an impressive selection of famous sporting legends and expert coaches, who are there to inspire the children and rub shoulders with the parents throughout the weekend at the scenic Holkham Hall in Norfolk. These sporting legends including Andrew Strauss, Rachael Burford, Mike Tindall and many more.

As a new business startup, Festival of Sport worked with Above Digital to define all aspects of the branding (including logo design), website design and build, ticketing and printed materials which included brochures flyers and posters. The website needed to generate excitement about the location, the sporting legends and deliver key information on the activities and entertainment. The site includes it’s own e-commerce ticketing platform, with bespoke data capture around the ticket requirements and provide QR codes that can be scanned in at the event.

The final result provided an engaging website that the Festival of Sport team could easily update themselves to promote and market the event. The event is in August and tickets are selling fast. It promises to be a memorable weekend for the whole family!

interface design

We place the User Experience at the heart of everything we do. That way we ensure any interface design works well for both the business and end user, directing them from their entry point through to a chosen destination in the quickest and most rewarding way possible! To do this we fully explore all business and user requirements, define the key goals and summarise via page wireframes, which can be made interactive. The whole process is scaleable and focused on providing the right blend of brand design, business requirements, user journey and technology. If we get it right then everyone is happy.

Users can typically be placed into one of two broad categories. Those who know what they want and those who do not. For the ones that do we provide clear and easy to use options focused on their priority tasks. Alternatively for users who want to explore and find their own path, we provide the right guidance to get them from A to whatever B might be, as quickly and simply as possible.

The final website appeals to the core demographic, and quickly guides the user from event information through to the purchase of tickets.

ecommerce ticketing

Festival of Sport wanted to handle ticket sales themselves through the website rather than using third party ticket seller. We assessed the Festival’s requirements and built a robust, secure eCommerce ticketing platform which allowed users to select the exact ticket type they wanted from a variety of options. The platform then generated an e-ticket that was sent to the customer, which contains a QR code that the Festival could use on the day via an app to easily scan, verify and log attendees digitally.

hoot home insurance

instant insurance quote. interface design.

the brief

The team behind HOOT Home Insurance developed a groundbreaking quoting system that delivers customers a competitive insurance quote in minutes. Users simply enter their postcode, click ‘Get a quote’ and are presented with quote options, avoiding the hassle of going through a long series of questions in order to get a quote.

HOOT had an existing website, but the interface design was proving an obstacle for visitors to use. We were asked by HOOT to redesign the interface for their website, creating a new, more effective user journey process from enquiry through to application.

The overall visual delivery also needed to fall in line with the HOOT brand and its fun nationwide advertising campaign featuring Alexander Armstrong.

interface design

We designed the interface to be super simple, the key focus of the home screen to be on driving the user to enter a postcode and get an instant quote. We wanted the user to be in no doubt of the action required.

We designed a clear call to action are on the landing page, to the right-hand side of the screen, drawing users in.

The rest of the website is designed around HOOT’s branding and campaign imagery. We included a burger bar, a sliding full-screen menu to keep any secondary navigation away from the key call to action and reinforce the simplicity of the user experience.

The site needed to include key legal information, accreditation logos, and benefit messaging that were also worked into the overall user interface design.

nü bamboo

eco product launch. website & campaign.

the brief

Nü are a business startup focusing on product ‘end of life’. They manufacture biodegradable, plastic free products that degrade within years, rather than decades, or even centuries. Above Digital created the #BTheChange campaign to challenge consumers to consider which products they buy and where they end up once used. The website acts as a communication hub and offers a range of compostable, plastic free, bamboo based nappies, wet wipes and women’s care products.

Users are encouraged to sign up for a free product trial and read news content written by Martin Dorey of #2MinuteBeachClean. To add to the buzz around zero waste culture, posts are pushed out to all #BTheChange social media channels where like minded individuals can discuss how we can lead more sustainable lives.

Having previously created the more product centric Nü Bamboo website, Above Digital created the #BTheChange campaign with a different aim. This was to highlight the negatives of one-use paper and waste plastics by guiding the user through separate paths depending on whether they already gave a damn or not, with responses tailored to each choice.

The resulting website for the #BTheChange campaign was an engaging interactive sequence that delivered Nü’s key brand messaging and encouraged sign up to product trials. It highlights a very current issue of plastic waste and places Nü at the centre of the solution.

salvari jewellery

branding & website design. eCommerce.

the brief

Salvari Jewellery are an eco friendly, inspirational jewellery design business startup raising awareness of human practices that negatively impact endangered animals. We worked closely from the very start with Salvari to define their brand, visual identity and logo design across all their digital and real world assets. We also designed and built an eCommerce website to sell their jewellery as well as share powerful stories and build their community.

Above Digital built a modern, mobile responsive website that allowed users to simultaneously browse the jewellery collection while learning about the plight and partner behind each piece. We delivered the brand across inlays, cards and set up hosting, social channels and a user friendly CMS to ensure Salvari could easily add future products and posts themselves. We also optimised the website SEO and integrated all their social channels to ensure the site acted as a marketing hub for the business.

The site is now live and taking orders, so watch this space as they add to the jewellery collection and grow their active social channel following.

kingdom coffee

magento eCommerce website.

the brief

Kingdom Coffee is an ethical coffee company that takes pride in the sourcing, fresh roasting and distribution of their Fairtrade coffee beans and other eco-products. Kingdom Coffee was looking for an agency to redesign their eCommerce website to improve the shopper experience and provide a future platform for the business to grow.

Working closely with the business, Above Digital scoped, designed and built a new eCommerce front end that included the migration of the website and existing database to the latest Magento 2 platform (with partners Aptania). This enabled Kingdom Coffee to benefit from many of the new Magento 2 features and further integrate the website into their back office systems. Above Digital designed the entire website with the user experience at the forefront, which they blended with the business storytelling of Kingdom Coffee’s ethical background.

Kingdom Coffee’s new eCommerce website is fully responsive, SEO optimised and integrated with Aptania’s marketing, analytics and reporting tools. The website successfully presents the brand’s values while showcasing Kingdom Coffee’s excellent product range and services in a clean, onbrand and easy-to-use style.

boundless betty

travel. eCommerce. marketing. print.

the brief

Boundless Betty connect thrill-seekers to sports activity and adventure holiday providers around the world. Aimed at women in their 20s and early 30s, the start-up wanted to fill a gap in the travel market and make it easy for outdoor lovers to build their dream holiday. Having built a brand and gained a strong social media following on Instagram, they now needed a visually engaging and easy-to-navigate transactional website.

Following a recommendation, Boundless Betty approached Above Digital to design and build an ecommerce site that would allow women to search for any activity, anywhere around the world, at any time of year. It also needed to facilitate payment splits between our client and their suppliers, while accommodating multiple currencies.

We focused on creating a visually appealing, feel-good, mobile-ready site that would support hundreds of camps from around the world. WordPress made content uploads simple, WooCommerce provided a sophisticated booking engine and Mango Pay enabled automation of the payment commission structure. Our client was thrilled with the results, and continued to partner with us for their ongoing marketing. Since the launch in 2017, we’ve implemented a blended strategy that includes content management and online competitions, as we actively support our client’s business growth.

future family

insurance startup. eCommerce. brand & marketing.

the brief

EmbryoCare launched its products in 2016, following the traumatic experience of its CEO as his second child was rushed to hospital with a lung defect. This sparked his idea for the world’s first insurance product focusing on the unborn child. EmbryoCare asked Above Digital to develop their brand identity, deliver their transactional online business presence, marketing and printed stationary.

Through careful scoping sessions, it was decided that a well-designed online transactional business tool was needed to collect payments and instigate direct debit agreements via Go-Cardless software. A Microsoft Umbraco framework was used to create their stylish and easy to navigate website. Aimed at 18-55 year olds, it was fully responsive so all products could be purchased via desktop, tablet and mobile devices. Above Digital also defined their social channel strategy, SEO optimisation and provided a fully editable user-friendly Content Management System (CMS).

The website was future-proofed to allow additional products to be added in the Spring, 2017. Best of all, it offers a great user experience, is jargon free and easy for to-be parents to choose a plan which works best for their future family.

ooh la label

branding & website design. eCommerce. social media.

the brief

Ooh La Label are a creator of amazing sticky labels for the likes of clothing, sports equipment, stationary and instruments. Needing to scale and automate the business to fit their hectic family lifestyles the founders asked Above Digital to replace their existing non-responsive website.

Above Digital carefully scoped the business requirements and built a modern, well-organised responsive eCommerce website that allowed users to custom design their own labels and place orders online, which could be quickly printed and then despatched. The whole website is responsive so it can be accessed equally well on mobile, tablet and desktop devices. We set up hosting and social channel management and put in place a user friendly CMS which Ooh La Label could easily manage themselves. We also optimised their SEO – monitoring the new website performance – and were a safe pair of hands, offering further support when needed.

The resulting website allowed Ooh La Label to maximise efficiency, having more time to focus on growing the business and fulfilling orders, resulting in increased orders and happy customers.
